Bondurant is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Central Iowa. With over 3400 residents, the population has doubled in the past ten years. Despite the current economic conditions, the growth continues.

Opportunities

Although the population has grown rapidly, commercial development has not kept pace. Bondurant is currently underserved by the service and retail industries, creating great opportunity for commercial development.

Improvements

Several projects in Bondurant have enhanced the quality of life. In 2008, a new Bondurant Community Library opened, as well as a new Bondurant Public Safety building. In 2009, a two-mile bike path/sidewalk was completed, with expansion plans for 2010. The Main Street renovation project was also completed in 2009. Other plans include new sewer construction, scheduled to begin in 2010. In addition, a new high school is set to open in August of 2010.
